Here you go the black and white team on the right... not complete. Here starting on the left and going clockwise there's Blue, Midnight and then Rosie the cat. Missing are black cats, Jolie and Hanky a well as Peppy black and white dog... I think I would be a real magician if I was to take a picture of the whole black and white team all at once in the same picture... hee, hee.
Then on the right, there's Jerry feeding dog bones to the seven dogs yes they are all there... If you look on the bottom left of the picture and go counterclocwise... there little Kita, Nanuk, Princess, Blue, Midnight, Peppy and on the other side of the table there's Bear. That was not my magic but Jerry's and the bones... LOL
have fun getting to know our crowd... minus two today as Marc came to pick up Blue and Midnight to take them back home.
and that's all folks for today at least...

day 292

Take a look at the comfort @ dansbois.
Right now we have 7 dogs and 5 cats in the house. Don't worry it is not always like that. We are dogsitting for one for 2 years and for Yas' 2 until Thursday.
It is amazing to see so many animals getting along so well. Mind you the humans in the house would not tolarate any trouble and I guess they know that.
hee, hee.
You can imagine what feeding time at the zoo is like. 12 bowls on the kitchen counter and 4 different kinds of food. Yet, every thing goes like clock work.
Everybody knows the spots where their food will be and they go right to it.
Just love all these animals and how easy it is for them to learn what is expected of them.
Yes, mommy Yasmin, your 2 darlings are behaving... see how cute and sweet they are in the picture.

day 309

can't believe I haven't blogged since day 322. Well, one thing for sure, it shows how I have not been good with all of my stuff. Exercising, eating well and such. I had been feeling very down but starting to feel better now.
I noticed that my little note pad is not behaving so I guess that is something I have to fix.
I also have a new laptop pc... so now I am doing a lot of learning, again. :-) so how do I find all my pictures. Let's try!
So now I know why Van wanted me to download and use Picassa. She wants me to learn it so I can show her how it works. Ha, ha, ha.
This picture has to do with my flowering xmass cactuses. I have seen xmass cactuses before but the flowers were always much simplier than these. I can't believe the beauty of these. I had been trying to make xmass cactuses to flower for many years but had never been successful. All I can figure is that I had not had/taken the time to water them and then when Jerry saw them one time looking like weeping willows and close to death he did take over and watered them. Then, voilà, we have flowering cactuses. They are so beautiful.
Well I succeded in uploading this picture from Picassa. I was even able to downsize it, less kb, so it would be less time to upload it to my blog. If I keep this up I will know way too much about computers.
So far I have learned, since Saturday, how to set up my pc with a lot of Google stuff, my Facebook, my window live hotmail and calendar. Then I downloaded Picassa, transferred pictures from my camera and uploaded them to by blog with Picassa. I have installed a grab program. I have connected with a router, wireless, to my Mac, my printer and the internet. Oh and I have also connected my cell phone through Airport.
I have never seen myself so busy.
On Monday, I made some "fire starters". We use them to start the fire in the woodstove. It is truly a neat way to start a stove. So here are pcitures to show you how it's done and what they look like.

By the way Van you should share this with Jeff or even do them yourself. I'm sure you guys will be able to apprciate these when you go to your 'chalet'.
First you need sawdust, candles and egg cartons... notice that these are not the styrofoam kind but the one that are like a cardboard.
You also need a double boiler. P.S. do not use one you would cook food with. Find an old one or one buy a cheep one. It will do quite fine for this.
Water in the bottom of the double boiler, warm in on a medium setting. Then place old cheep candles, old ones you have or buys some in a second hand store (unbelivable what can be found in a second hand store) or buys cheepies at a Dollar store.
Once the candles are melted, remove candle wicks and place them in the bottoms of the egg carton. I guess they could be throwned out but why they burn well too. :-)
Now in the double boiler (with the wax) mix in sawdust to make a very heavy paste. With an old spoon, spoon mixture into the egg carton, let cool.
Once they are cool, cut between each... I tried scissors but find it hard to do that way so now I use a seregated knife as if it were a saw. Place them in a plastic box and they are ready to use.
You just need to light one side and place on the bottom of the stove to logs on each side and place more logs on top... and it is the very easiest way to start a fire.
Ok I do think that this blog is quite long enough and that is all there is for tonight...
BTW - Van you love to cook and this is just like a recipe so do enjoy...

day 323 & 322

Here is what my igoogle looks like with my own picture and color schemes...
I grabbed it and then saved it as a jpg.
you can download the picture to your desktop open see it better... Now I have to go have an orange and then finish vacuuming and then... who knows..
I think it really looks neat.
Another super day, one of 3 so far... just need to keep adding them on. Yesterday we had Chicken Breast w a huge salad.... and tonight we had Oyster Sauce Fish with Carrot Rice. It is hard to believe that one can eat so healthy and be able to enjoy the food so much.
Tomorrow for St-Valentin we are going for Sushi in Steinbach. I am so loo
king forward to it.
And now for my animalery time....
Here comes Goofy... can't get over how much fun this guys is easy to photograph. Here he is after a free fo
r all with Nanuck. He is full of frozen blubber and seems to be asking me, "Well what's up?".
No doubt about it, he is making friends with eve
ryone.
Well all, nite nite.

day 324

hey, did you guys see this really neat count down thingy I found?
Wow, now I don't have to keep track of it on my
calendar. It will get done all by itself.
And here is a picture of my cute little waffler and it is cute and little... the closed unit without the handle is 9" X 6". I find it so cute and fun to use. I know I am silly. I forgot to take a pictures of the waffle once they are cooked on

Well supper is almost ready... I guess I will be taking pictures of it and posting it after we all done... My mouth is watering I am so looking forward to eating it.
We had pork-chops and the big thing about it is that there was this really neat chili based rub on it...
1 1/2 tbsp or chili powder, 1 tbsp unpacked brown sugar, 2 tsp ground cumin, 1 tsp garlic powder, and 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce - Mix all in a small bowl. I used a cup. Start the broiler. Spra
y broiler pan with olive oil spray. Using a spoon, spread some of the chili rub on one side of pork chops, place on broiler pan, spread the left over rub on the other side and place under broiler. Cook until pink inside, turning chops over... I cooked them for about 20 min. all together, turning them every 5 min. Really need to keep and eye on them so the rub doesn't burn and to cut and check if ready, that's when they are no longer pink...

One other thing about cooking. When I first started cooking, it always seemed as if I was asked to put in a certain kind of sauce or vinegar or whaterver... I kept wondering how can they expect us to have all this fancy stuff around... I started buying some here and there and then it wasn't very
long that I realized that I had pretty well everything I needed.

and now my blog wouldn't be my blog if I did not have a couple of pictures on the
animalery.

So here is one of Googy, he looks like he has been drinking the night before...

And then there's Kita and Michou who really didn't want to be left undone... "See we can be cute too!"

And that is all folks for tonight's edition of di's @ dansbois!

still day 325

finally figured out what was wrong with my post... I was publishing and it was not showing on my blog... a lot of head scratching later.. I figured it out... a while back I had been playing with trying to change the skin on my blog. I had created another blog called di@danbois to try stuff and thus making sure that I would not be making a mess of my dansbois blog... which is the one you are reading... :-) well, I still haven't succeeded... I'm still trying to figure the ways and hows to have a really neat skin on my blog... so gotta try some more eventually.
Right now it is time for di to seriously think about going to bed.
Lucky for me I don't have to get up tomorrow.

from day 333, to today day 325

Just realize that I have forgotten to count and write the day I am at now... so gotta go to the calendar and do that... brb.
There all done. Today is day 325
Here is the kinds of clothes I would love to be able to wear. This first one on the left I made one last year. Had to make it in such a size that would fit me. It did but I felt it looked so bad on me that I never wore it. It is a very large rectangle which is folded in such a way that it does look like a vest. When I do loose the weight I will be able to wear it as a large, warm and cozy shawl. Who knows I might even wear it this summer. Let me tell you it totally doesn't look like the one on the left.

And here are more of the knitting crafts that I would LOVE to make for myself. I think they would look just as fabulous on me if I could get back to the tall slim person I used to be.
that beautiful long sweater would look so chic on me tall and slim. lol

I know that I can look like this... I have lost some once before... I can do it again...

A
nd then there's the accessories... I have this beautiful pair of cowboy boots with don't fit as even my feet are fat. I know I'm not really putting myself down... I'm trying to make myself realize that I do have to do something about this weight now... not tomorrow or in two years but it must be done now...

Well, to
morrow, will really get back on the right track... that is tracking food and exercises... and placing all these pictures on my fridge, 2 mirrors in the bathroom and on the treadmill.
So di's on her way to doing it right!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
